It all started with a less-than-stellar vacation rental experience. During a stay in St. Augustine with a larger nationwide management company, we couldn’t help but notice the quality just wasn’t there, things weren’t clean, the service was lacking, and it didn’t feel like the getaway we hoped for. That’s when we thought, “We could do this better.”
We sold our long-term rentals in St.Louis, MO, bought a few homes in Jacksonville, and began building Joseph Ellen Properties, one home and one guest at a time. Our goal was simple: to create vacation rentals that didn’t just meet expectations but completely raised the bar. We did this through our branding and commitment to outwork the competition.
Where the Name Comes From
The name Joseph Ellen is personal—it’s our middle names! We’re Andrew Joseph and Melody Ellen, the husband-and-wife team behind the company. It felt fitting to name the business after us because everything we do comes from a place of pride, care, and a personal touch. (Also, we were not that creative at the time lol)
