The lock was the main issue as to it needing batteries. Once that was accomplished by one of my local daughters obtaining new batteries, opening was possible. As we were in airport transit, and I not being well versed on digital, it took a few attempts to clarify the issues, via another daughter who was digitally knowledgeable, it was accomplished.
